Lartington Hall is now one of my favourite wedding venues. It is a combination of the beautiful surroundings near Barnard Castle in Northumberland, the beautiful building and the amazing owners and staff. I met Laura and her Mum a few months before the wedding and we had a great time walking around Lartington Hall and as soon as we saw the fireplace we came up with the idea of this vanity fair style shot, which turned out pretty cool as you can see, a different kind of family shot.
Laura and Jamie are a cool and creative couple and their wedding was full details like the foliage used to dress the venue was cut days before from Laura’s Mums garden. It did give a nice fresh smell around the place and gave a unique twist on the beautiful interior of Lartington Hall.
Now this was the kind of wedding that I bring backup, so thanks for Dan McCourt for being my second photographer on the day.
The day started early with lots of energy and a buzz around the room where Laura was getting ready, her bridesmaids were excited as soon as they came in the room. On the other side of Lartington Hall, Jamie was a little nervous, but a few beers with his best men and has was nearly ready. I say nearly because come time for Laura to walk down the aisle the tears did start.
After the ceremony for of smiles, tears and laughter the reception was a relaxed and classy affair, there was a small diversion of the savage best men speech, but I won't go into that. The energy was restored for the evening do which started with first dance and then the band kicked in which started the party off in fine style and continued long into the night.
